I’ve been a programmer since middle school, and I’m also pretty handy with various design software (AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3DS Max, etc.). I’m a self-teacher – All of my strongest skills have been self-taught. I started teaching myself programming in middle school by first learning Batch coding, and creating several dozen creative projects out of it (text RPG games, etc.). Next, I started learning C, then C++, then GML (GameMaker scripting language similar to a lightweight C/C++), then web-languages (JS/PHP/SQL/HTML/CSS, etc.), then Java, and so-on. Today, I am very well versed in over a dozen programming languages, or several dozen if counting different frameworks/packages/environments.

I learn by trial and error, and when that fails me, the internet. I believe the internet is an important resource to keep open and free, so that thinkers who put their skills into projects as I often do can continue to bring their inventions to fruition by using it.

I’m fluent in Mandarin Chinese. I’ve lived in China a total of about two years, over four trips, and I’ve been to 14 different cities in China. I got the Confucius Institute scholarship to study in Zhejiang University for one year. I worked several jobs in China, two of which have to do with programming (An electronics company, and a game dev company using the Unity engine).

I earned a 1st degree black belt in Taekwondo when I was 16, and I love to play the piano. I’ve been self-taught in piano since the age of 6. I also enjoy taking good-looking photos, though I’ve never actually learned much about photography as a professional field.
